Chris Evans returns as the iconic Super Hero character Steve Rogers/Captain America, along with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

  • The Winter Soldier character, played by Sebastian Stan, was created for Marvel comics by Ed Brubaker in 2005. Chris Evans Returns as Steve Rogers in “CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER”

Chris Evans reprises his role as the iconic Super Hero Steve Rogers in Marvel's “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”

“In this film a good amount of time has passed since the events with The Avengers, so Steve Rogers has had time to process what has happened to him,” says director Anthony Russo. “As the world’s greatest soldier, Cap moves on from the U.S. Army and goes to work for S.H.I.E.L.D., which creates a conflict in him because S.H.I.E.L.D. is a complicated spy organization that deals in grays and clandestine motivation, and that’s not who Cap really is.”

For Chris Evans the grounded and gritty tone of the script played to the strength and sensibilities of the title character. “Cap doesn’t fly; he doesn’t shoot lightning bolts,” informs Evans. “He punches and kicks, so with that type of combat, to make it cool you have the liberty to get grittier. It feels a little more voyeuristic, a little more documentary style, and it just has a rougher feel as opposed to most Super Hero films that tend to be a bit glossier.”

Johansson's Black Widow Darker Than Ever in “CAPTAIN AMERICA” Sequel

Joining Steve Rogers aka Captain America in his latest adventure, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” is familiar ally Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow, played once again by topnotch actress Scarlett Johansson.

Natasha has become Steve Rogers’ closest ally in the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization as she helps him adjust to his new role. “When we first meet Natasha and Steve, it’s kind of in real time, so a couple of years have gone by and they have worked on many different missions together,” informs Johansson. “They have gotten to know each other better, so they have more ease and banter to their conversations. I really like the dynamic because their friendship is far more interesting to me than if they were to have a romantic relationship.”

Final Trailer of “AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2” is here!

The final international trailer for “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” has just been launched  by Columbia Pictures which can now be viewed here.

Synopsis: We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important conflict has been within himself:  the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man.  But in “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” Peter Parker finds that his greatest battle is about to begin.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield).  For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone).  But being Spider-Man comes at a price:  only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city.  With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he.  And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common:  Oscorp.

The film, directed by Marc Webb from a screen story and screenplay by Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci & Jeff Pinkner based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, is produced by Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach.

MANILA, March 10, 2014 – Warner Bros. Pictures' blood-splattered epic “300: Rise of an Empire” slew its box office competition with a nationwide opening weekend of a battle-ready P67-million for the March 6 to 9 frame. This was announced today by Francis Soliven, General Manager of Warner Bros. Philippines, the film’s distributor.

The epic action-adventure muscled its way to the record books, with the following breached milestones: All Time, Industry-Wide Biggest Opening Weekend for an R-16 or higher-rated film (surpassing the R-18-rated “The Da Vinci Code” at P46.55M); and All-Time Biggest Opening Weekend for a Warner Bros. R-rated film (outgrossing the R-13 rated “The Matrix Reloaded” at P45.3M).
And despite a 4-day opening weekend, “Rise of an Empire” eclipsed the 5-day opening weekend of the first “300” by a robust 69%.

Worldwide, “Rise” scored an estimated $133 million, as it grossed $45.1 million in the U.S. and North America of which 3D contributed a muscular 63%, with premium large-format and Imax locations grossing a combined $10.9 million.

Internationally, “300″ hauled a stellar $87.8 million from 58 markets, including leaders Russia, France, South Korea and Brazil. The film, which earned $5.2 million from Imax overseas (a March record), ranked No. 1 in the market place globally.

Back in the Philippines, SM Mall of Asia got the lion’s share of gross receipts, posting a mammoth P4.09-M in five days.  At second place is SM North EDSA with P3.29-M, followed by SM Megamall at third with P3.02-M.

The Top Ten biggest-grossing cinemas include Trinoma (P2.16-M), SM Cebu (P2.08-M), Glorietta 4 (P1.85-M), Greenbelt 3 (P1.80-M), Power Plant (P1.60-M), Eastwood (P1.55-M) and Theatremall (P1.53-M).

The Top 11-20 slots are occupied by Alabang Town Center (P1.46-M), Gateway (P1.38-M), Newport (P1.281-M), SM Aura (P1.280-M), SM Fairview (P1.12-M), SM Southmall (P1.11-M), Ayala Cebu (P1.08-M), Market! Market! (P1.03-M), Shang Cineplex (P1.02-M)and Robinsons Ermita (P985,920.)
Set in ancient Greece, "300: Rise of an Empire” is the eagerly anticipated “companion film” to the 2007 blockbuster "300." “Rise” takes place before and after the earlier film when 300 Spartans marched to their deaths in a battle against the Persians.  In the new movie, an alliance of Greek city-states wage battle on the seas against the Persians.

Both films are based on graphic novels written by author Frank Miller. "300: Rise of an Empire" stars Australian actor Sullivan Stapleton as the Greek leader Themistokles and French actress and model Eva Green as Artemisia, the ruthless commander of the Persian forces.

"This far exceeded our expectations," said Jeff Goldstein, executive vice president for theatrical distribution at Warner Brothers.

The studio anticipated an opening in the range of $35 million to $40 million, "thinking, if we can get to $100 million (total box office) we'd be in a good place," Goldstein added, noting that the movie made nearly half that in its opening days.

"Clearly we captured a much broader audience than we anticipated," Goldstein said.

Still showing across the Philippines in IMAX 3D, Digital 3D, 2D and 30mm format, “300: Rise of an Empire” is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

“ENTOURAGE” Expands as Additional Cast Joins the Film, Now in Production

Debi Mazar, Rex Lee, Constance Zimmer, Nora Dunn and Emily Ratajkowski have joined the cast of Warner Bros. Pictures’ theatrical feature “Entourage.”  Mazar, Lee, Zimmer and Dunn will reprise their roles as Shauna, Lloyd, Dana Gordon and Dr. Marcus from the HBO hit series, and Ratajkowski will appear as herself in the film, which began principal photography in Los Angeles on February 19.

“Entourage” will open in theaters beginning June 12, 2015.

Written and directed by series creator Doug Ellin, the big-screen version of the award-winning show stars Kevin Connolly, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara and Jeremy Piven in their original roles, as well as Billy Bob Thornton and Haley Joel Osment as Larsen and Travis McCredle.  The film also reunites series regulars Perrey Reeves as Ari Gold’s wife, Emmanuelle Chriqui as Sloan, and Rhys Coiro as Billy Walsh.
“Entourage” is produced by Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson and Doug Ellin, with Wayne Carmona serving as executive producer.  The creative filmmaking team includes director of photography Steve Fierberg, production designer Chase Harlan, and costume designer Olivia Miles-Payne, all of whom worked on the long-running HBO series.

In addition to Los Angeles, “Entourage” will also film on location in Miami, Florida.

“Entourage” is a presentation of Warner Bros. Pictures, in association with Home Box Office.  The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
