SM Supermalls Honors 100 Women of Power and Substance This March

In celebration of Women’s Month, SM Supermalls, Project Headshot Clinic, and the Dream Project Philippines are launching a campaign and digital exhibit called Inspire.

Inspire brings together 100 of the country’s most inspiring women from all fields and industries, such as Jessica Cox, Irma Adlawan, Andi Manzano, Cheska Garcia-Kramer, Kai Magsanoc, Margie Moran, Nene Chan, Angel Guerrero, Kara Alikpala, Wilma Galvante, Patricia Bermudez-Hizon, Ingrid Santamaria, Sarah Gaugler, and Merlee Jayme. The diversity of the women chosen shows that regardless of background, beliefs, and preferences, empowered women who dream and act on those dreams are able to inspire and change their communities for the better.

Inspire is showcasing stories of women empowering others. To get a chance to be one of the 100 women featured in Inspire, applicants must answer the question, “How are you using your power as a woman to inspire change and enable dreams of your own and of others?” Their answers should be posted in any of the  following  social  media  accounts,  Facebook,  Twitter  or  Instagram,  starting  with  the  hashtag
#SMProjectInspire.

Applicants must also register via Headshot Clinic's official website, www.headshotclinic.com, for their entries to be counted. Entries must be received by March 17, 2014.

Project Headshot Clinic is digital platform that merges profile photos with campaigns and advocacies. The Dream Project Philippines is a volunteer-based community initiative that helps build the nation by shaping the dreams of the Filipino youth.

Yuoy! Project Headshot Clinic supports OPM!

YUOY!

An expression, a song, an art. 

I had the chance to join Project Headshot Clinic (HSC) at Ronac Art Center in Ortigas and was very excited to take part in the photoshoot . This February, HSC is in support of Original Filipino Music. Youy! is the latest song by the independent Hip Hop group Q-York and at the same time an expression created by DJ Flavamatiks of Q-York. You might be wodering, how did he come up with such a word? He grew up in Queens, New York with the familiar expression, Yo!  When he got here in the Philippines, he learned the expression "yun" and "hoy" and he thought of combining the two and he came up with YUOY, an expression that can take on a multitude of meanings!

 The expression of creativity, something cool, unique and freedom is now what we call OPM, Original Filipino Music. It's an expression of so many things, about oneself, one's culture and value.

I, together with some bloggers and well known music celebrities had our picture taken as part of this advocacy. We support our very own original filipino music. We were able to meet some music celebrities that joined us in supporting the headshot. After the headshot, Q-york will be making a music video of Yuoy! and hopefully will be out after around two weeks.

Other music and non music celebrities who supported the project were, Alex Crisano, Amber, and John Avila. It was great to see non music celebrities too supporting this project by devoting their time to join the headshot.

We all have our own dreams. We make it. If we just believe in our talents and in our self. Original Filipino Music has been there ever since, I hope that thru projects like this (HSC) we support our own kind of music, our own brand of songs, our own pride. 

Kudos and Thanks to Jason for letting me join this project (this is my first time!) and to Niccolo Cosme, it was great meeting you in person. I hope to join more headshots soon ^_^
