Engaging Breakthrough Visuals and Story in “THE BOOK OF LIFE”

From the studio (20^th Century Fox) that introduced the exhilarating world of “Avatar” comes “The Book of Life,” an animated feature film with an epic mythology inspired by the Mexican Day of the Dead holiday set in a visually spectacular world never seen before with an original story from producer Guillermo Del Toro and director Jorge R. Gutierrez.  Both of Mexican descent, Del Toro and Gutierrez are compleat filmmakers who wanted to share the richness of their culture to the world by creating an authentic Mexican story at the backdrop of a revolutionary style in animation.

                “The Book of Life” is also Jorge’s (the director’s) love letter to his native land that is an emotionally engaging, emotional and original story with comedy, love, action and adventure featuring a star-studded voice cast including Channing Tatum, Zoe Saldana, Diego Luna, Ron Perlman, Ice Cube, Danny Trejo and Christina Applegate. Two-time Academy Award-winner and Grammy winner music producer Gustavo Santaolalla, who won Oscars for “Brokeback Mountain” and “Babel” writes the film’s original score and songs.  

                The ultimate celebration of life, “The Book of Life” is the journey of Manolo (Luna), a young man who embarks on an incredible adventure that spans three fantastical worlds where he must face his greatest fears.  Torn between fulfilling the expectations of his family and following his heart, Manolo finds himself at a a time when spirits pass between worlds and where anything can happen.

Animated Comedy "Hotel Transylvania" Checks In Soon!

Welcome to “Hotel Transylvania,” Dracula’s lavish five-stake resort, where monsters and their families can live it up, free to be the monsters they are without humans to bother them. On one special weekend, Dracula (voice of Adam Sandler) has invited some of his best friends – Frankenstein and his bride, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, the Werewolf family, and more – to celebrate his beloved daughter Mavis’s 118th birthday. In the vampire world, that signals the time to break out from the sanctuary.

For Drac, catering to all of these legendary monsters is no problem – but everything could change for the overprotective dad when one ordinary guy stumbles on the hotel and takes a shine to Mavis (voice of Selena Gomez).

Lion King 3D a New Dimension

“The Lion King” is one of Walt Disney Animation Studios' first hand-drawn 2D animated classic to be revamped with the latest 3D technology. Filmmakers decided to bring the classic back to the big screen and into fans’ homes in a whole new way, immersing audiences into the world of the Pride Lands. 

 

“The 3D aspect of a film can help to better tell a story,” says 3D stereographer Robert Neuman. “We used it in the way a composer uses music to score a film, having it echo the emotional content of the story. Getting the chance to add 3D to ‘The Lion King’ and to work with the original filmmakers to ensure the use of depth reflected their vision and enhanced their story was an incredible opportunity.”  

Arthur Christmas Opens on December 7

Imagine a city under a starlit sky. It’s Christmas Eve, and the children are nestled in their beds, dreaming of Santa on his sleigh pulled by eight beautiful reindeer. Suddenly, a shadow comes over the city. A million pinpricks of light. A million figures descend. The invasion has begun and there’s not a jingle bell to be heard…

…but don’t panic. This is how Santa gets the job done every Christmas: with a huge, mile-wide, state-of-the-art sleigh with stealth cloaking technology, and a million elves, working in precision teams of three, who have 18.14 seconds to get into each house, deliver the presents, and move on to the next one.

Santa Claus is coming to town, but this time, he’s not coming down the chimney.

“They have all the technology in the world and no expense is spared,” says Sarah Smith, who directs and co-wrote “Arthur Christmas,” the new 3D, CG-animated film from Aardman Animation for Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures. “This movie reveals what their equipment looks like and how they do it.”
