Fifth "Mission: Impossible" Film Starts Production

Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions announced last August 25, 2014 that principal photography has commenced on the fifth installment in the blockbuster “Mission: Impossible” franchise. The new film will shoot in Vienna, Morocco and London.

Christopher McQuarrie will direct from a screenplay by Drew Pearce and Christopher McQuarrie and Will Staples. The film is produced by Tom Cruise through Tom Cruise Productions and J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk through Bad Robot. Skydance Productions’ David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger will serve as executive producers.

The film stars Tom Cruise reprising the iconic role of Ethan Hunt, who was first introduced to moviegoers in 1996. Returning to the franchise will be Simon Pegg as Benji, Jeremy Renner as Brandt and Ving Rhames as Luther. Joining the cast will be Alec Baldwin and Rebecca Ferguson.

The 4th installment in the globally successful franchise, “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol,” earned nearly $700 million worldwide and became Cruise’s highest grossing film to date in his storied career.

The “Mission: Impossible” franchise has earned more than $2 billion at the box office, making it one of the most successful franchises in movie history.

The fifth "Mission: Impossible" film will be distributed in the Philippines by United International Pictures through Columbia Pictures.

“EDGE OF TOMORROW” Holds Sneak Previews June 2 & 3

Warner Bros. Pictures' new exhilarating sci-fi thriller “Edge of Tomorrow”starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt will have special sneak previews on Monday and Tuesday, June 2 & 3 in selected theaters across the country.

The Doug Liman-directed action-adventure will be available for previews in cinemas starting at 7PM on the aforementioned dates. Regular ticket prices will apply.

CHRISTOPHER McQUARRIE To Direct the Next MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE

Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions announced today that Christopher McQuarrie will direct the next “MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE” film.

McQuarrie will direct from a screenplay by Drew Pearce, with Tom Cruise reprising the iconic role of Ethan Hunt, who was first introduced to moviegoers in 1996.  The project will be produced by Cruise through Tom Cruise Productions, Paramount and J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot, who served as producers on previous films in the hit series.  Skydance Productions, who served as co-financers and executive producers of the last installment, will work closely with the team in the development and production process.

“I am thrilled to reunite with Chris for the latest installment in the Mission series," said Cruise. “I began producing the films with the goal that a different director with his own vision would make each one.  Chris is an extraordinary filmmaker who will deliver the heart-pounding action and thrills that audiences around the world have come to expect from the Mission: Impossible franchise.”

“Edge of Tomorrow” has been announced as the title of the upcoming sci-fi thriller starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, directed by Doug Liman and based on the book All You Need is Kill. The movie, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures, is set for release on June 6, 2014, and the first look at footage from the film will be unveiled by the Studio at this year’s International Comic-Con: San Diego on Saturday, July 20. The announcement was made today by Sue Kroll, President, Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.

Being directed by Doug Liman, the film is the first motion picture to be shot at the recently christened Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, and began principal photography October 1.

Tom Cruise, one of filmdom's brightest superstars, plays the fictional Stacee Jaxx, one of music’s biggest stars, in New Line Cinema's epic musical “Rock of Ages.”

In the film, Stacee Jaxx is the rock god that every guy wants to be and that every woman wants to bed. The lead singer of Arsenal, Stacee is at a turning point in his career, and in his life. He’s about to go solo, and his final show with the band is at The Bourbon Room. It’s a homecoming of sorts, as he played his first gig there back in the day. Tom Cruise Stunts in Mission Impossible-Ghost Protocol

Tom Cruise plays Ethan Hunt, an IMF agent tasked to stop a nuclear attack, and clear his name and his agency. Together with fellow IMF agents, Ethan , escaped the prison, climbed buildings,  braved the sand storm in Dubai, and even drove the BMW i8. The action packed thrill ride movie is also filled with mind-boggling stunts of Tom Cruise and the rest of the cast.

 

Stunt 1 – Jump from the Hospital Window

Ethan slips out of a fourth-story window and, while Russian operatives wait for him to give up, grabs his belt, leaps from the building ledge, slides down a nearby power line to the roof of a moving van and rolls off safely onto the street.  “That was actually one of the most challenging stunts of the whole movie, as far as difficulty goes,” says stunt coordinator Gregg Smrz.  “We rehearsed that on stage over and over and over, until it was just old hat, and then went and put it into place.  Tom nailed it in just a few takes.”

Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol

Tom Cruise, who reprises the role of IMF agent, Ethan Hunt is back in the latest action-adventure movie, Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol.

When a terrorist bombing destroys the Kremlin, the United States government activates “Ghost Protocol” and disavows the entire Impossible Mission Force. Ethan Hunt and his team are blamed for the attack, but are allowed to escape as part of a plan to enable them to operate outside their agency. 

   Hunt is warned that if any member of his team is captured or compromised, they will be charged as terrorists planning a nuclear strike. He is forced to work with fellow IMF agent Brandt, who knows much more about Hunt and his past than Hunt himself.
