Support for Shamcey Supsup, Miss Universe 2011 Philippines Candidate

In just a few hours, Miss Universe 2011 will be made known. 

Philippines is very proud to present this year’s candidate, Shamcey Supsup. Bested among 30 other candidate, Shamcey was crowned Br. Pilipinas-Universe at the Binibining Pilipinas 2011 held last April, 10 at the Araneta Coliseum. Graduated as magna cum laude from the University of the Philippines-Diliman with a degree in architecture, she also topped the June 2010 Architecture Licensure Examination in July 2010.

The 24 year old Filipina Beauty graced the stage with her beauty and style during the swimsuit and evening gown preliminary competition. 

As of August last week, Shamcey was in the lead for the online voting, let’s all hope and pray for a favorable results in the beauty contest itself.

Internet Predetor thriller TRUST Exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinema Sept 7

David Schwimmer, best-known for playing Ross in the hit TV sitcom “Friends,” now directs Millenium Films' psychological thriller “Trust” which stars Clive Owen, Catherine Keener and Viola Davis. The critically acclaimed film on the dangers of Internet relationships will be shown exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas (Glorietta 4, Greenbelt 3 and Trinoma) starting Sept. 7.

When Annie, a 14-year-old girl, is seduced by a 41-year-old internet predator she knows only as "Charlie," it tears apart her family. While her father, Will (Owen) becomes obsessed with revenge fantasies, Annie enters therapy, where she refuses to admit she's been victimized.

FRIGHT NIGHT Opens Sept 7

In anticipation of the upcoming release of “Fright Night,” DreamWorks shares some interesting trivia about the new vampire thriller starring Colin Farrell and Anton Yelchin.

A revamp of the 1985 comedy-horror classic, “Fright Night” is directed by Craig Gillespie and also stars Toni Collette, David Tennant, Imogen Poots and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

Based on true events, “Argo” chronicles the life-or-death covert operation to rescue six Americans, which unfolded behind the scenes of the Iran hostage crisis—the truth of which was unknown by the public for decades.


On November 4, 1979, as the Iranian revolution reaches its boiling point, militants storm the U.S. embassy in Tehran, taking 52 Americans hostage.  But, in the midst of the chaos, six Americans manage to slip away and find refuge in the home of the Canadian ambassador. Knowing it is only a matter of time before the six are found out and likely killed, a CIA“exfiltration” specialist named Tony Mendez (Affleck) comes up with a risky plan to get them safely out of the country.  A plan so incredible, it could only happen in the movies.

Principal photography has begun on Warner Bros. Pictures’ and GK Films’ dramatic thriller “Argo,” directed by and starring Academy Award^®winner Ben Affleck (“The Town,” “Good Will Hunting”).  The film is being produced by Academy Award^® winner George Clooney (“Syriana”), Oscar^® nominee Grant Heslov (“Good Night, and Good Luck.”) and Affleck. Affleck is directing the film from a screenplay by Chris Terrio, based on a selection from Master in Disguise by Antonio Mendez.  David Klawans, Chris Brigham, Graham King, Tim Headington, Chay Carter and Nina Wolarsky are serving as executive producers.

"DEEP GOLD" Goes Underwater in Philippines

“Deep Gold” features eye-popping 3D action sequences, including spectacular underwater footage using the shooting tank located at Bigfoot facilities in Cebu. Gleissner together with Rick Robinson, the film’s director of photography and an Emmy Award winner leads us deep into the bottom of filming the movie under Philippine watersHollywood’s underwater moviemaking technology streams with Philippines’ best locale in the upcoming actioneer “Deep Gold” from Bigfoot Entertainment starring international actresses Bebe Pham and Jaymee Ong.  Joining them is Phils.’ Joel Torre in a very notable role.

Warner Bros. Surpasses $2 Billion at the International Box Office!

Warner Bros. Pictures International has crossed the $2 billion threshold at the international box office, as it gears up for a fourth quarter that includes such highly anticipated releases as Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion, Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar, George Miller’s Happy Feet Two, Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows, and Garry Marshall’s New Year’s Eve, among others. The Division hits this benchmark for the fourth time. The announcement was made today by Veronika Kwan-Rubinek, President of International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.

This achievement follows the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, the final adventure in the blockbuster film series, which smashed international records to become not only the biggest Harry Potter film but the highest grossing film of the year and the third-highest international release of all time, with an astounding $857 million and counting. The Studio kicked off the summer with Todd Phillips’ The Hangover Part II, which beat its predecessor to gross $327 million internationally and become the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time; followed by the surprise comedy hit Horrible Bosses, which to date has grossed over $35 million internationally, with many markets still to open.

TOY STORY in Hawaiian Vacation

Walt Disney Studios proudly presents the Academy Award winning animation that has touched every one’s lives. The TOY STORY gang is back to the big screen again in “Hawaiian Vacation”, a 3D animated short story directed by seven-time Academy Award winner Gary Rydstrom.

“Hawaiian Vacation” will appear exclusively with the upcoming “Cars 2” theatrical release, which races into Philippine theaters on August 24 and will be presented in Disney Digital 3D™ and IMAX® 3D in select theaters.  John Lasseter returns to the driver’s seat to direct the follow-up to his 2006 Golden-Globe®-winning “Cars.”    

New Rowdy Comedy "Bad Teacher"

Columbia Pictures pulls up a raunchy female comedy which may turn out to be Hollywood’s next hot genre, as opposed to raunchy comedies headlined by male actor.  The movie Bad Teacher stars Cameron Diaz as the ruthless middle school teacher being pursued by a co-instructor/gym teacher Jason Segel, but wants to win over Justin Timberlake because of his money. 

In the film, Elizabeth Halsey (Diaz) is a teacher who just doesn’t give an F. She’s foul-mouthed, ruthless, and wildly inappropriate.  She drinks, she gets high, and she can’t wait to marry her meal ticket and walk away from her day job teaching middle school. When she’s dumped by her fiancé, she sets her plan in motion to win over a rich, handsome substitute (Timberlake) – competing for his affections with an overly energetic colleague, Amy (Lucy Punch) – but finds herself fighting off the advances of an irreverent gym teacher (Jason Segel). Elizabeth’s outrageous schemes and their wild consequences will shock her students, her coworkers, and even herself.
