Cutler’s adaptation of the New York Times best-selling novel by Gayle Forman.

In “If I Stay,” Mia Hall (Chloe Grace Moretz) thought the hardest decision she would ever face would be whether to pursue her musical dreams at Juilliard or follow a different path to be with the love of her life, Adam (Blackley). Caught between life and death for one revealing day, Mia has only one decision left, which will not only decide her future but her ultimate fate.

New Trailer for “IF I STAY” Arrives

New Line Cinema has just shared the new international trailer of “If I Stay,” director R.J. Cutler’s adaptation of the Gayle Forman young adult novel.

The new trailer may be viewed at Warner's official youtube channel.

Gayle Forman’s best-selling novel comes to the screen in New Line Cinema’s and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures’ drama “If I Stay,” starring Chloë Grace Moretz (“Carrie,” the “Kick-Ass” films), Mireille Enos (TV’s “The Killing,” “World War Z”), Joshua Leonard (“Higher Ground”), Jamie Blackley (“Snow White and the Huntsmen”) and Stacy Keach (“Nebraska”).

In the film, Mia Hall (Moretz) thought the hardest decision she would ever face would be whether to pursue her musical dreams at Juilliard or follow a different path to be with the love of her life, Adam (Blackley). “THE FAULT IN OUR STARS” Align on June 5 in Cinemas

The phenomenal young-adult tome “The Fault In Our Stars” penned by John Green is brought to life on the big screen produced by blockbuster producer Wyck Godfrey (“Twilight” films) and directed by Josh Boone (“Stuck In Love”).

Written for the screen by the creative minds of Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber (“500 Days of Summer,” Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet”), “The Fault In Our Stars” features two of today’s most followed young actors – Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort as extraordinary teenagers who fatefully meet and takes their love on an unforgettable and exhilarating journey into infinity.

Hazel Grace Lancaster (Shailene Woodley) is sixteen years old. She alternately loves and tolerates her sometimes over-doting parents.  Hazel has developed a crush on a young man, Gus Waters (Ansel Elgort), who seems equally smitten with her. As they grow closer, Hazel and Gus share their fears that accompany their health issues, as well as their love of books, including Hazel’s touchstone, An Imperial Affliction.  She has tried many times to get in touch with the book’s reclusive author Peter Van Houten (Willem Dafoe), to no avail.  When Gus manages to reach Van Houten through the author’s assistant, it results, astonishingly, in an invitation to meet the writer in Amsterdam. Gus is determined to take Hazel on a journey that will answer every question she has ever had about the book that has meant so much to her.

Even before the novel was published, Hollywood came calling.  But Green was reluctant to sell the movie rights.  “I felt the story was so personal and close to me I just couldn’t imagine it being turned into a movie.”

Revenge Wears Prada Book Review

Revenge Wears Prada; The Devil Returns is the much anticipated sequel of Lauren Weisberger's thrilling chic lit " The Devil Wears Prada".

Upon hearing the release of Revenge Wears Prada, I immediately looked for a copy. I loved the first book, but only watch the movie version as I failed to get a copy of my own. The story tells of what happened to Andy Sachs, a decade after she left her job at Runway because of her tormenting boss, Miranda Priestly.

At first thought, you would think that Revenge Wears Prada would literally mean that Miranda is out for revenge at what Andy did, but as I read the book and halfway through it, I realized this is not at all about Miranda's revenge but rather Andy's life that's close to perfect. She now runs her own wedding magazine, The Plunge, she's married to a handsome, rich and caring husband, and has a beautiful baby girl. What was close to being perfect, her life begins to be torture by a nightmare about Miranda Priestly seeking revenge and is back to take her life in all ways possible.

I somehow was able to relate to Andy's life in the second book. I recently got married to a wonderful Angel and still in the planning stage. Feeling Andy's emotion in her adjustment in married life somehow speak about my current situation. I like it when Lauren described her pregnant days, it somehow gives the readers some horrible facts about being pregnant and having a baby which you would not often hear from others. The blending of characters were very good, each has his/her own recall. I felt genuinely attached to Andy and Max (her husband) as if it were me and my husband.

I almost cried towards the end of the story, because honestly I did not like the ending that much, or what happened towards the ending. If I were to ask, the author could have diverted the "divorce" into another situation. It felt like, there was so much love at the start of the book and suddenly got lost along the way.

The book is an easy read and light for a chic lit. The wittiness and unpredictable magic of the first book could not be found her. Though you would think of Miranda seeking revenge as the title literally conveys, you'd find out that Miranda appeared very minor in the second book.

I'd still recommend this book, just so you know what happened to Andy Sachs after she gone of redeeming herself from Miranda Priestly. I'd love to see this in a movie though and see a face behind Max and Alex.

Real Life Sweethearts PAUL DANO & ZOE KAZAN stars in RUBY SPARKS

“Ruby Sparks” is the story of a novelist’s vision who inexplicably comes to life, only to prove far more complicated than even he could have imagined. With a light touch and a dash of magical realism, the first screenplay from actress and playwright Zoe Kazan attracted the attention of Jonathan Dayton & Valerie Faris, the married team who directed the run-away hit “Little Miss Sunshine.” The film takes an unpredictable route into fantasy, identity and the ways we invent love – and how love can re-invent us.

Paul Dano plays Calvin, a celebrated author in his younger years who hasn’t had a follow up novel years after his first breakthrough novel. Struggling with writer’s block, disappointed and unfulfilled, his close relationships are with his dog and his brother. Calvin who is cut off and isolated is constantly being urged by his married brother Harry (Chirs Messina) to get out, live, date and write. Finally finding in his imagination a muse for his novel and with his old typewriter, he creates the perfect girl he named Ruby. Barely done with his first chapter, to his astonishment that his character, Ruby (Zoe Kazan) has magically sprung to life and arrived in his kitchen where she is cooking eggs.

Life changed as Calvin believes that he willed the perfect woman into his life by the sheer power of his imagination. Ruby leaps off the page and into the kitchen of his house, filling it with her warm and joyful personality. Is he hallucinating? Is this a fantasy? Or is the lovely Ruby Sparks a flesh and blood girl: the girl he has been waiting for? Whether real or imaginary the delightful Ruby turns into a muse who helps Calvin rekindle his passion for writing and his passion for life.

Joining the incredibly talented couple Dano (“Little Miss Sunshine,”“There Will Be Blood”) and Kazan (“Revolutionary Road,” “It’s Complicated”) in the movie are Annette Bening who plays Calvin’s free-spirited hippy mother and Antonio Banderas plays her artistic and flamboyant lover.

Find out what will happen to “Ruby Sparks” when it opens September 19 in select theaters from 20th Century Fox (Fox Searchlight Pictures) to be distributed by Warner Bros.

Ninoy and Cory's Love Story will continue in heaven

I was up late last night watching the Cory tribute on television. The news was all over the world, even the leaders of other countries gave their own message of sympathy and comfort to Tita Cory’s family and remembered her as an advocate of peace, justice and democracy. But what struck me the most on the tribute was the long lost love story of Ninoy to Cory. I cried on some instance, because it was then that it actually realized and dawned on me that former Pres. Corazon Aquino is now gone. I love the poem that Ninoy wrote when he was in jail for their 19th wedding anniversary. His admration for Cory is not only when he was with her but it was always there, with him.
Below is the poem, which was also arranged by Jose Mari Chan.

I Have Fallen In Love With The Same Woman Three Times
(the poem in full)

I have fallen in love
With the same woman three times
In a day spanning nineteen years
Of tearful joys and joyful tears

I loved her first when she was young
Enchanting, brilliant, middle-strung
Vibrant, fragrant, eternally new
Cool, invigorating as the morning dew.

Desperate, she shared, quieted my despairs
Hopeful, she fanned the fires of my hopes
Lavished me with days of bliss and peace,
Endless, perpetual days of fond memories.

She is my hope; I do not wish to realize
Hence my hope; forever green, eternal prize
My life transcending life, my ultimate quest
Dream of my life for whom Ill spare no rest.

I fell in love again
With the same woman the second time
When first she bore her child and mine
The first fruit of our union and our love.

The pains and anguish of motherhood she braved
Loved her children, their love she deservedly craved
Times were she hung on the very brink of death,
Unflinchingly fulfilling her mission to procreate.

In politics I plunged, she was always by my side,
Steadfast, uncomplaining, helping to turn the tide,
Amidst hardship, her rare courage would not relent
She was my secret weapon, the source of my strength.

The world was my concern, our home her domain,
The people mine, the children hers to maintain,
So it was in those eighteen years and a day
Till I was detained, forced in prison to stay.

Suddenly she became our sole support
Wellspring of hope, source of comfort
On her shoulders fell the burden of life
She emerged our captain in the sea of strife.

I fell in love again
With the same woman the third time
Looming from the battle, undaunted, unafraid,
Calm composed, she is God's lovely maid.

It has been a year of many disappointments
Endless dark nights, long days of sad lament,
Of grave doubts, frustrations, bitter desolations,
Of privations, untold indignities, humiliations.

Dreams became nightmares; hopes, despair.
Rally to freedoms call, no one will dare.
Future is obscured, life has lost its meaning,
The tunnel is long, were only at the beginning.

Leaders I admired, whose advice I sought
Became fallen idols, their souls were bought,
Their conscience they bartered for soft convenience,
Due to despicable cowardice, theyve lost their patience.

Leaders became dealers, begging for part of the spoils,
Forgetting the value, the essence of the hottest toil,
Paralyzed be fear, they joined the amoral dictator,
Defending, waving the bloody flag of the new oppressor.

The pillars of society became the props of tyranny,
Be realistic, they urged, if not for safety, for money.
It is useless to resist, the tyrant is too strong,
Yet aware, with their help the tyranny will prolong.

Mother Pilipinas weeps, her noble sons are gone,
Her land of the morning, is now of the setting sun,
Back to her dungeon in chains shes been returned;
For all her sacrifices, this is what she earned.

The night is cold and dark, there are no stars,
Our prisons are full, our souls wrinkled with scars,
Afflicted, persecuted, struck down but not crushed,
How soon will this blight be erased by Allahs brush?

My only escape is to cling to the woman of my dreams
Who gave me a life full of love, a love full of life,
She is my urge to live, my sole motivation to survive,
She taught me not only to dream, but to make dreams alive.

Fight on! She says: Let not the guiltless ghost depart.
Your pains, our people know are caused by a thousand darts,
But be assuaged, remember the Filipino, his story, his past,
Soon, very soon, the tyrant will choke in his greedy power lust!
