Alecia Moore (P!nk) is Gloria in Happy Feet Two

When Warner Bros.' highly anticipated sequel “Happy Feet 2” begins, “It’s party time,” says director George Miller, “and at the center of everything are Mumble and Gloria. Gloria is singing, Mumble is dancing, and everyone is inspired by the rhythm and chemistry between the two.”

Mumble has grown up to be a respected leader within the Emperor penguin community. And if Mumble is the undisputed dance champ of Emperor Land, his mate Gloria is the undeniable diva. For the role of this powerhouse songstress, the filmmakers turned to Alecia Moore, also known as triple Grammy-winning recording artist P!nk. “P!nk was a natural for the role, and has been really superb,” says director Miller. “She had sung in the opening of the first movie and wanted to be involved again because she’s compassionate and a great animal lover. So for this one, in addition to voicing Gloria, she wrote the wonderful lullaby called ‘Bridge of Light,’ with Billy Mann.”

No stranger to a recording booth, Moore was nonetheless a little nervous about making her voice acting debut. Watching other cast members helped to change that. She recounts, “
I got to watch Brad [Pitt] and Matt [Damon] not only record some of their dialogue, but they also had to sing. They just went for it, and I thought, ‘Wow, I really have nothing to fear in there.’”
Producer Doug Mitchell says, “When it came to Alecia’s turn to record, of course, she totally nailed it. She’s a great professional and a lovely person. Her song, ‘Bridge of Light,’ is wonderful and touches on one of the great themes in the movie.”

Alecia Moore (P!nk) has sold over 40 million albums and 65 million singles worldwide, winning three Grammy Awards, five MTV Video Music Awards, and one World Music Award. P!nk has cemented her spot as one of the biggest female artists of the past decade, and the top five touring artist in the world with her record-breaking Funhouse World Tour, which elevated her from an arena performer to a global stadium act.

In 2010, “Raise Your Glass,” the lead single on her compilation album celebrating a decade of success, Greatest Hits…So Far!!!, became P!nk’s tenth Top 10 hit. It was her second solo number one hit, following 2008’s "So What" from the album Funhouse, which also notched an additional three Top 20 hits.

P!nk’s previous albums include the 2000 debut Can't Take Me Home; 2001’s worldwide success Missundaztood; 2003’s Try This, which earned her a Grammy for Best Female Rock Vocal performance for the single “Trouble”; and 2006’s I'm Not Dead, which generated five hit singles, including “U + Ur Hand” and “Who Knew,” which both went on to number one on the pop chart. Rated number 13 on Billboard’s 2000-2009 list of Artists of the Decade and number one Pop Song Artist of the Decade, she was also voted Best Recording Artist in 2009.
Opening across the Philippines on Nov. 23 in IMAX 3D, 2D and regular theaters, “Happy Feet 2” is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Happy Feet Two Movie Review

Mumble, The Master of Tap, has a problem because his tiny son, Erik, is choreo-phobic. Reluctant to dance, Erik runs away and encounters The Mighty Sven -- a penguin who can fly! Mumble has no hope of competing with this charismatic new role model. But things get worse when the world is shaken by powerful forces. Erik learns of his father's "guts and grit" as Mumble brings together the penguin nations and all manner of fabulous creatures -- from tiny Krill to giant Elephant Seals -- to put things right.

I have enjoyed the first Happy Feet movie so much, and that got me so excited to watch Happy Feet Two. I was so ecstatic to receive then a premiere invite in IMAX 3D in MOA. Even before the movie started, during cocktails we were welcome by Mumble and Erik in person (mascot) and we even had pictures taken with them. I have enjoyed watching the movie so much. I like all the actors who voiced out the characters specially Robin Williams. I like the set of songs played and I also like their renditions. I have read some dire reviews about the movie; I don’t know what they are expecting. The voices are great, the visuals are the awesome and remarkable, it’s a must watch in 3D. I would probably have to agree on some people that says the story in Happy Feet Two is not as strong as the first Happy Feet. But you will still enjoy and tap your way thru the story. The animation is just amazing for me, the use of penguins is indeed so cute. The actors were great, I even enjoyed watching the voice cast featurette.

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol Movie Review

Blamed for the terrorist bombing of the Kremlin, IMF operative Ethan Hunt is disavowed along with the rest of the agency when the President initiates "Ghost Protocol". Left without any resources or backup, Ethan must find a way to clear his agency's name and prevent another attack. To complicate matters further, Ethan is forced to embark on this mission with a team of fellow IMF fugitives whose personal motives he does not fully know.

This is my first time to watch Mission Impossible and I would have to say that, I regret not watching the first three instalment of Tom Cruise’ Mission Impossible. I would have to say that the movie is so great and I am really drawn by the action. Tom Cruise is so fit with the role and I heard that he really did some of the stunts in the movie. I would have to say that the technology used in the movie is indeed state of the art and I am amazed by some of them. The story, since I don’t have anything to compare with is simple yet character driven. I kind of think it is going after an Ocean’s Eleven / Italian Job kind-of-movie but there really is something that differentiates MI from all other action movies. For me it’s Tom Cruise.

Happy Feet 2 Steps up in IMAX 3D on Nov. 23

The adorable peguins of the Academy Award®-winning animated smash hit “Happy Feet” is back! The animated spectacle, Happy Feet Two, returns audiences to the magnificent landscape of Antarctica in superb 3D.

In the film, Mumble, The Master of Tap, has a problem because his tiny son, Erik, is choreo-phobic. Reluctant to dance, Erik runs away and encounters The Mighty Sven—a penguin who can fly! Mumble has no hope of competing with this charismatic new role model. But things get worse when the world is shaken by powerful forces. Erik learns of his father’s “guts and grit” as Mumble brings together the penguin nations and all manner of fabulous creatures—from tiny Krill to giant Elephant Seals—to put things right.

"Climate change is why we're doing this movie now," Miller says. "The desert we wanted to shoot in in Australia? It's covered in flowers." The first film, a 2006 surprise hit at $190 million, was initially to be shot in 3-D, Miller says. "But we simply ran out of time. This one is shot in 3-D, and the landscapes we could create are just spectacular."

The movie, starring the voices of Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Robin Williams and Elijah Wood as rug-cutter Mumble, centers on Mumble being a new father while still navigating the perilous ice world around him, which is melting frighteningly fast. Director George Miller wasn't looking to make back-to-back cartoons about the environmentally fragile residents of Antarctica. But Mother Nature can be a wicked executive producer, Miller has learned.

The Lion King in Philippines Cinemas in 3D!

Simba, Mufasa, Nala, Timon and Pumbaa are back and better than ever this December when Disney’s “The Lion King” roars into Philippine theaters in breathtaking 3D!

When “The Lion King” first ruled the cinemas in 1994, the story of Simba and his father touched the hearts of an entire generation—its pioneering soundtrack, unexpected humor and compelling characters captivated audiences worldwide. The film, which followed “The Little Mermaid” and “Beauty and the Beast,” propelled The Walt Disney Studios’ animation renaissance, becoming the highest-grossing animated film of all time. (In the U.S., it continues to be the highest-grossing hand-drawn animated film ever.) “The Lion King” won the Oscar® for Best Original Score (Hans Zimmer) and Best Original Song (Elton John/Tim Rice, “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”) and earned Golden Globes® in both categories as well as for Best Motion Picture—Comedy or Musical. It is the best-selling home entertainment release of all time and inspired a Tony Award®-winning Broadway musical that became the seventh-longest-running musical in Broadway history in January 2011. And now, the popular classic is in 3D for the first time ever.

Swings and Grooves of Happy Feet Two

Academy Award® for Best Animated Feature, “Happy Feet”, was an unqualified global hit that appealed to critics and audiences of all ages last 2006. The delighted audiences tapped their toes and sung their hearts out along with the movie. It also fueled greater efforts for environmental and wildlife conservation and even entered the modern lexicon, with “Happy Feet” becoming a synonym for tap dancing, its star Mumble’s particular talent.

Director George Miller explains, “I often say that these stories are for the adult in the child and the child in the adult. I think one of the reasons why ‘Happy Feet’ resonated is that it had a kind of nourishment to it, with the time-honored ideas of being true to yourself, being brave and trying to treat the world and yourself with respect.”

Countdown for New Year's Eve

A stellar ensemble cast led by Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Jon Bon Jovi, Abigail Breslin, Robert De Niro, Josh Duhamel, Zac Efron, Katherine Heigl, Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hilary Swank and Sofia Vergara will ring in the 2011 holiday season with New Line Cinema's romantic comedy “New Year’s Eve.”

Director Gary Marshall, renowned for a catalogue of films that capture love in so many rich, warm and funny ways, calls it New Year's Eve “the perfect opportunity to take stock of things, to think about the mistakes of the past year and about how maybe you can do better. A time to be thankful for what you have. But it’s also a fun, exciting, wonderful time, full of anticipation—and yes, some craziness. Mostly it’s about hope, when everything you want seems possible again, if you’re willing to take another chance.”

Arthur Christmas Opens on December 7

Imagine a city under a starlit sky. It’s Christmas Eve, and the children are nestled in their beds, dreaming of Santa on his sleigh pulled by eight beautiful reindeer. Suddenly, a shadow comes over the city. A million pinpricks of light. A million figures descend. The invasion has begun and there’s not a jingle bell to be heard…

…but don’t panic. This is how Santa gets the job done every Christmas: with a huge, mile-wide, state-of-the-art sleigh with stealth cloaking technology, and a million elves, working in precision teams of three, who have 18.14 seconds to get into each house, deliver the presents, and move on to the next one.

Santa Claus is coming to town, but this time, he’s not coming down the chimney.

“They have all the technology in the world and no expense is spared,” says Sarah Smith, who directs and co-wrote “Arthur Christmas,” the new 3D, CG-animated film from Aardman Animation for Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures. “This movie reveals what their equipment looks like and how they do it.”

Get to know the Robots in Real Steel

In the latest movie presented by DreamWorks Pictures, Real Steel, Director Shawn Levy has themed the film as a tale of redemption for three lost and forgotten souls. “The main characters––a father, his son and a machine––are each abandoned beings,” Levy says. “All three of them have been cast aside and forgotten. The substance of the story is about how this trinity has a chance of returning to grace.”

The idea of boxing robots was a provocative one for Levy who is widely regarded for his box-office hit comedies “Night at the Museum” and “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.” When DreamWorks first presented him with the idea for “Real Steel” he says he was attracted to the project because of the pitch from Steven Spielberg and Stacey Snider. “They called me up and talked about what at first sounded like a crazy idea for a movie,” Levy recalls of his initial response to the story. “Of course I was super‐flattered, but I was on the fence about the premise. Then I read the script. What I found was an opportunity to make an emotional father/son/sports movie. That was galvanizing for me.”

Let's get a load of the ass-kicking robots that was shown in the movie.

Real Steel Fun Facts

Set in the near future, where robots have replaced boxers in the ring, “Real Steel” stars Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a financially strapped, risk-taking former boxer who now makes his living on an underworld robot boxing circuit, operating the metal pugilists that made his human profession obsolete.

Hugh Jackman and Evangeline Lilly stars in Real Steel

A gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near-future where the sport of boxing has gone high-tech, “Real Steel” stars Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.

Dolphin Tale opens on October 5, 2011

Warner Bros.' new, family adventure “Dolphin Tale” is inspired by the amazing true story of a brave dolphin and the compassionate strangers who banded together to save her life.

Swimming free, a young dolphin is caught in a crab trap, severely damaging her tail.  She is rescued and transported to the Clearwater Marine Hospital, where she is named Winter.  But her fight for survival has just begun. Without a tail, Winter’s prognosis is dire.  It will take the expertise of a dedicated marine biologist, the ingenuity of a brilliant prosthetics doctor, and the unwavering devotion of a young boy to bring about a groundbreaking miracle—a miracle that might not only save Winter but could also help scores of people around the world.

Ashley Judd stars as a single mother raising a troubled son. Judd remarks, “I didn’t really know anything about Winter before I became involved in the movie, so it was an exciting process of discovery.  As soon as I finished the script, I went to seewinter.com to look at her.  I couldn’t wait to meet her, and it was even more magical and moving than I anticipated.”
“Ashley conveys the warmth and concern of a mother facing the challenges of raising her boy on her own,” director Charles Martin Smith says.  “Then when she sees the bond between her son and this dolphin, the look on her face tells you everything.  Ashley is really a wonderful actress.”

FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS” HOLDS SNEAK PREVIEWS SEPT 19 & 20

Acclaimed as one of the year's best romantic comedies, Columbia Pictures' “Friends with Benefits” will have whole-day sneak previews on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 19 & 20, in selected theaters everywhere.
From the director of “Easy A,” the film stars Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis as liberal singles Dylan and Jamie, respectively, who think it will be easy to add sex to their friendship, but they discover that getting physical always leads to complications.
Timberlake notes, “Our characters meet each other in that time where they’ve both recently split up from other relationships and we’re both in that headspace where we kind of want to just be single.”
Mila Kunis saw her character Jamie as someone who “believes in true love and believes that Prince Charming is out there and is desperately seeking that.” Jamie doesn’t wear her heart on her sleeve, though. “She’s a typical New Yorker,” laughs Kunis.
With Dylan working hard to establish himself at a new job in a new city and no time to pursue life’s more frivolous aspects, and Kunis’ Jamie meeting too many “nice” guys who turn out to be not-so-nice, the two come to an agreement asserting mutual benefits without the emotional complications of dating. ‘Cause after all, everyone has physical needs, they convince themselves. What could possibly go wrong?
Opening across the Philippines on Sept. 28, “Friends with Benefits” is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International. GLEE THE 3D CONCERT MOVIE” EMPLOYS 3D TECH USED IN AVATAR

“Glee The 3D Concert Movie” employed unparalleled 3D technology used in “Avatar” to bring the audience right in the middle of a premium 3D experience rooting for their idols from the immensely popular ‘Glee’ television series.
“Glee The 3D Concert Movie” director Kevin Tancharoen closely collaborated with 3D pioneers and “Avatar” makers James Cameron and Vincent Pace to bring 3D into fruition while filming the concert during their sold out tours.  Taking into consideration the waves of 3D movies that came out after “Avatar,” Tancharoen made sure that the 3D experience will be worth the audience will pay for in watching “Glee The 3D Concert Movie.”

Tancharoen, whose roster of clients include Britney Spears and the Pussycat Dolls further shares in a stream of live chats over the internet how the film is entirely different from his previous works on music videos and films. “This is different from the other works I’ve because this is completely live.  We had to set up all the cameras in various places, and that they all have to be on their mark. So there’s a whole another technical hurdle you had to overcome with that.”
“The 3D aspect lets you feel just how big the show is. Vincent Pace was the guy who created the technology that we used.  There’s a huge truck that him and James Cameron designed and used for Avatar. So it’s like a mother ship of electronics, there were so many monitors in there and a bunch of people doing different 3D convergence monitors.  And so it felt like you were running a space ship and there was a lot to handle,  and that will be the biggest difference since you had to keep all the technical things in mind while making sure the show is moving along and everyone in the right place,” Tancharoen enthuses on filming the movie in 3D.
Concluding fans’ speculations on what to expect on the film, the director notes that all the spectacle that is Glee is totally tied with the overwhelming support by the fans.  With this, the film is infused with testimonials from fans whose lives had been touched and changed by Glee and its characters.
For two weeks only - “Glee The 3D Concert Movie” opens on September 21 nationwide in 3D digital screens from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

My Lifeguard Shirt

They say the picture is worth a thousand words
I say my shirt is not for nerds.
Though mine is simple, white and small
I know there are some that fits ‘em all.

Let me tell you about the story of my shirt,
It’s not very grand but it’s worth a blurt.
This shirt I have been searching for a very long time,
Glad to have found it now during my prime.

This shirt and I share very special times together,
It’s a favorite companion during good and bad weather.
My lifeguard shirt, as I call it,
Have been complimented by others, as a perfect fit.

I value this shirt as I value my character,
Because I believe you are what you wear.
I love this shirt! Now, I want someone else to love it too!
I support the Electrolux Wash-athon Clothes Donation Advocacy, you should too!

“DOLPHIN TALE” – AN AMAZING TRUE STORY OF BRAVERY, COMPASSION

From the producers of the Oscar-winning film “The Blind Side” comes Warner Bros.' heartwarming family adventure, “Dolphin Tale” which is inspired by the amazing true story of a brave dolphin and the compassionate strangers who banded together to save her life.

Dolphins and humans have always shared an intriguing symbiosis despite the natural divide of land and water. Their gentle spirits, smiling expressions and undeniable intelligence captivate us, and dolphins, likewise, seem drawn to the people who venture in or onto the oceans they call home…sometimes to their own detriment. Throughout the years, there have been many tales of dolphins saving the lives of people. In the feature film “Dolphin Tale,” a few dedicated humans join together to return the favor.

“THE GREAT GATSBY” Begins Production

Shooting underway on new adaptation starring Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role,
under the direction of Baz Luhrmann.
 PRESS RELEASE:

Principal photography began this week on Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Village Roadshow Pictures’ “The Great Gatsby,” the new big screen adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel from the uniquely imaginative mind of writer/producer/director Baz Luhrmann.  The filmmaker will create his own distinctive visual interpretation of the classic story, bringing the period to life in a way that has never been seen before.  Leonardo DiCaprio stars in the title role.

“The Great Gatsby” follows Fitzgerald-like, would-be writer Nick Carraway as he leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz and bootleg kings.  Chasing his own American Dream, Nick lands next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby, and across the bay from his cousin, Daisy, and her philandering, blue-blooded husband, Tom Buchanan.  It is thus that Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super rich, their illusions, loves and deceits.  As Nick bears witness, within and without the world he inhabits, he pens a tale of impossible love, incorruptible dreams and high-octane tragedy, and holds a mirror to our own modern times and struggles.

Academy Award® nominee DiCaprio (“Blood Diamond,” “Aviator”) plays Jay Gatsby, with Tobey Maguire starring as Nick Carraway; Joel Edgerton and Oscar® nominee Carey Mulligan (“An Education”) as Tom and Daisy Buchanan; Isla Fisher and Jason Clarke as Myrtle and George Wilson; and newcomer Elizabeth Debicki as Jordan Baker.  Indian film legend Amitabh Bachchan will play the role of Meyer Wolfsheim.
